Manitowoc participates at the AAA level of Wisconsin American Legion Baseball. We comply with the requirements listed below: 

Varsity and double rostered JV level players (max 18 total players): 

Required:  One Certified Copy Original Birth Certificate must be on file with Manitowoc Legion Baseball varsity head coach at the beginning of the Legion baseball season. Best to also carry with you one official photo ID card. A Wisconsin photo driver’s license or a Wisconsin photo ID is appropriate. 

Your original birth certificate is on file with the Register of Deeds in the county in which you were born.  Baptismal certificates, hospital certificates, school certificates, and photo copies of the certified original are NOT acceptable according to state and national American Legion Baseball rules. Wisconsin certificates will have the raised stamp of the Register of Deeds in one or more corners. 

In Manitowoc, certified copies of your birth certificate are available at the Register of Deeds office in the courthouse for $20 for the first and $3 for each additional at the same time. 

If you were born outside of Manitowoc County, you may visit national website www.baseball.legion.org, click on Rules and Forms tab and highlight Birth Certificates for assistance.  It is important you act now, as in some cases it has taken more than eight weeks from original request. 

Junior Varsity (Level 3) 

Required:   One official photo ID card. A Wisconsin photo driver’s license or a Wisconsin photo ID is appropiate.  Carry this on your person at all tournaments.  Your team parent must see your photo ID and record your date of birth from a copy of your certified birth certificate prior to the first tournament. 

If you do not already have a driver’s license or will not have one prior to June 20, a Wisconsin Photo ID is available at the Wisconsin Dept Motor Vehicle Service Center in Manitowoc, 621 Reed Avenue. The cost is $28. The player must appear for taking the picture, will need your certified copy of birth certificate and a parent or legal guardian to confirm your legal identity. The picture ID card may take up to 15 business days to receive in the mail. 

Clippers (Level 2) and Colts (Entry or Level 1) 

Required: Your team parent must record your date of birth from a copy of your certified birth certificate prior to the first tournament.
